Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Exchange Day

In order to promote youth exchanges and cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, promote Hong Kong youth's understanding of the environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in the mainland of China and expand the space for youth development in Hong Kong, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen, hold the “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Exchange Day” on July 21 relying on “the 2018 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Internship Program”, organizing about 150 internships from Hong Kong university students and some Hong Kong youth representatives to visit the TK, Untech, Makeblock, Streamax and other high-tech enterprises as well as Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Base and Southern University of Science and Technology, and inviting young makers in Shenzhen and Hong Kong to interact and exchange with young internships.

Comrades and representatives of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen, Southern University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Young Professional Alliance, Unleash Foundation, Hong Kong Financial Professionals Association and Hong Kong Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association participated in this event.

On July 21, Mr. Jiang Likun, director of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen, Mr. Huang Jianfeng, section chief of the United Front of Shenzhen, Ms. Pan Ying, division head of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen, Mr. Wang Xiaolong, director of Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office Service Center Mr. Luo Jiajun and Mr. Guo Xiaoyu, sections chief of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen and personnel of the United Front and Social Construction Bureau of Guangming New District and Shenzhen Guangming Community of Industry and Commerce as well as team leaders and students and teachers of universities and colleges of Hong Kong, over 150 persons in total, visited our company. They visited the automatic production line, automatic packaging workshop, precision mold workshop, the largest mold production department, automotive mold automation workshop, 3D printing and other workshops.

After the visit, they took a break and began the forum stage. The forum was hosted by Ms. Zeng Xieqin, director of the Human Resources Department. She introduced the process of the forum, leaders and guests of the forum first.

Mr. Jiang Likun, director of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen made a speech later. He mentioned that since 2015, the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Internship Program” has been running for 4 consecutive years, and more than 2,500 students of Hong Kong universities have gone to well-known enterprises in Guangdong as internships. As a key project to promote youth exchanges between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen fully supports the internship program. A total of 361 companies were launched, providing about 2,674 internships for Hong Kong university students and attracting 1,162 Hong Kong university students to have internships in Shenzhen. The Office hopes that through this type of activity, Hong Kong students will feel the support from the state to the local government, that more development space will be provided for Hong Kong youth, and that they can train themselves, improve themselves and discover their trueness in the process of development and have a clear understanding of their future.

Subsequently, Mr. Li Peiliang, welcomed Hong Kong youth at the forum. He said that communication with the youth each time would inspire him to have new ideas and shared his decades of experience in starting his own business. Mr. Li Peiliang explained the relationship between doing industry and capital operation by using examples of planting vegetables and selling vegetables, and pointed out the opportunity of choice. He also explained the dialectical relationship between opportunity seizing and the attitude after the selection, further explaining the importance of attitude after the selection. Mr. Li Peiliang supported the youth entrepreneurship, but he believed that Hong Kong youth must have their skills, capacity and social relations before starting a business. He also mentioned three stages of development of the TK: the entrepreneurial stage from 1983 to 1999, the refining stage from 2000 to 2010 and the second entrepreneurial stage from 2011 to now and encouraged Hong Kong youth to have their life planning.

As the fifth part of the forum, Ms. Zeng Xieqin introduced the TK from the aspects of TKEL category, international/local management development road and international/market management trainee training model.

The sixth part of the forum was the interactive part. Hong Kong youths have raised their own questions about possible problems in the entrepreneurial stage and how to solve them. Mr. Li Peiliang responded to everyone's questions in a humorous and far-reaching manner. He also briefly introduced his personal experience and the initial stage of the venture, and highlighted the development of the mainland of China and the future development trend of the Greater Bay Area, encouraging Hong Kong students to come to the mainland of China and care about the development of the mainland of China.

In the “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Exchange Day”, Hong Kong youths were arranged to have direct discussion with Mr. Li Peiliang and youth makers of Hong Kong and Shenzhen in the manner of visit and forum. They listened to the stories and experiences of the new and old generations of entrepreneurs in Shenzhen and Hong Kong at the forum to feel the atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship in Shenzhen. This kind of activity encouraged and promoted Hong Kong youths to come to Hong Kong for development, which lays the foundation for Hong Kong youths to expand their future development space. Hong Kong university students who participated in the event expressed that this event helped them to broaden their horizons, increase their knowledge. They said they were inspired by the face-to-face exchanges with young Hong Kong makers in Shenzhen, and deeply felt the atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship in Shenzhen. The student representatives expressed their gratitude to Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen for holding the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Internship Program” and “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Exchange Day”, talked about the experience of internship in Shenzhen, shared the feelings of participating in the exchange day and hoped that this platform can further expand their development channels in the future.
